Riverdance feels the cold in Jonkoping and Oslo!

Before we knew it we had our first week done in Stockholm and we were back on the bus for our first travel day of 2010. Luckily it wasn’t too long a day as we were staying in Sweden but heading to Jonkoping. Jonkoping is a lovely quiet little town with loads of coffee shops and restaurants to relax in.

Lots To Do and See with Riverdance In Los Angeles!

Hello all. This week we arrived in Los Angeles for a two-week run at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. I have never been to L.A. before, and it has been such an exciting week being an absolute tourist around the town. There was so much to do, I don’t even know where to begin with this blog!

Riverdance in Shanghai!

We arrived in Shanghai with great expectations for what was hoped to be an amazing city full of diversified culture and unbelievable sightseeing. Our expectations were met in every way. Shanghai is one of the coolest cities I have ever visited and our week here was definitely a high point of the tour so far. We didn’t know where to start, there was so much to be done!

Riverdance continues its European tour in Stockholm, Sweden

Well its back on the road for us again here in the Corrib, but we were lucky to get a nice two weeks off to spend with our family and friends over Christmas, unlike our colleagues in the Boyne and the Bann who had to work all over Christmas. So with us all rested and ready to go we found ourselves all back in Dublin Airport on Monday morning the 4th of January catching a flight to Stockholm.

Riverdance in sunny San Diego!

This week we were in gorgeous, sunny San Diego, California. As everyone back in my home on the east coast (and in Ireland!) is having snowstorms and record lows, San Diego was among the hottest American cities this week. What a good time to be here! Our hotel was located in the Gaslamp Quarter of the city, which was where all the entertainment, dining and shopping was to be had.

New Year’s with Riverdance in Zhoushan and a Weekend in Hangzhou

With an amazing Christmas week under our belt and a deeper understanding for the Chinese culture, it was time to continue our worldly adventure with two more cities. What was supposed to be a two city week, ended up with us traveling midweek to Zhoushan for one show and then on to Hangzhou.

A Very Merry Christmas with Riverdance in Fuzhou and Wuhan!

We had a rather short travel day from Guangzhou to Fuzhou, which is always nice. The roads in China are not what you would call the best in the world, so the shorter the bus journey the better. What adds to it is the culture of honking the car horn. In China, it is polite to honk your horn while approaching a corner or intersection, so prepare yourself for an abundance of beeps if you travel over here.

Christmas and New Years Eve with Riverdance!

Happy New Year’s from the Boyne Company in California! I can’t believe it’s been another full week of holiday celebrations along with great shows in downtown San Jose. On Monday, we traveled for a mere hour and a half from Berkeley to San Jose, and checked into our hotel…across the street from the San Jose Center for Performing Arts where we were performing for the week!

Riverdance in China: Our Stop in Guangzhou!

Our first travel day of tour went very smoothly. We only had a two hour bus ride to Guangzhou and we were all excited to see our new home for the week. We were a bit spoiled with the warm weather in Shenzhen and even though it was only two hours away, Guangzhou was a tad bit on the colder side. It rained for a couple of days here and there was not too much sun; but we were still able to check out the local sites. Since this is week two, we have started to get used to the culture a bit more and have realized some more cultural differences.
