The Riverdance cast looked forward to a day off due to the super bowl coverage, with some of the cast members venturing out to Chicago only a mere hour away. Some of us stayed in Milwaukee to watch the local team of Green Bay take on the Pittsburgh team on their quest to be Super bowl champions.

Riverdance and the Emmy-award winning actor Brendan Gleeson will lead a gathering of some of the finest talent in Ireland to raise vital funds in the Variety Gala Concert in aid of funding for St Francis Hospice, Raheny / Blanchardstown in the Helix, Dublin on Saturday, February 26th, 2011.
Riverdance is an enormous theatrical production of no less than 65 cast and crew members. Riverdance features the amazing talents of more than 20 dancers as well as 4 backing musicians who entertain audiences with an innovative and exciting blend of Irish dance, music and song.
Due to yesterday’s inclement weather, special arrangements have been made for an encore performance of Riverdance, March 6th, 2012 at 7:30PM.
Anyone who was unable to attend the February 1st performance should retain their original tickets.

Riverdance has been running since 1995 and, while we have seen many copycat versions, this is the original show’s first time round. It doesn’t matter that it’s 15 years down the line – they haven’t lost any of their initial allure and it’s fascinating to see where the Irish dance phenomenon began.
“Cultural phenomenon” status is wonderful, but when that means seeing Irish dancing moves in every spoof movie of the last five years….

IT LOOKS like the season’s a sellout,” says John Langford, part of Attie van Wyk’s Big Concerts, which has brought Riverdance to SA for the first time . It must be an enviable position to be in right now when all over the world theatre and dance productions are struggling to bring in audiences. What a high note to start the year on.
