RIVERDANCE is back at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin until the end of August and amongst the cast of the record-breaking show is Dundalk dancer Darren Casey.
The 22-year-old from Fatima Drive has been a member of the show since 2008 and said he is living the dream at present after fulfilling a childhood dream of joining Riverdance.

“I looked at how they used to dye fabric with berries in Celtic times. Everything from blackberries to apple skins. And once I got that rich color I used a lot of stretch velvets. I travelled the country finding people, who could contribute, people who embroidered and made crowns”
Riverdance was proud to support the charity MedAid4Kids on our Gaiety Theatre opening night this June 30th.
MedAid4Kids is an Irish charity with one goal in mind ‘to help children who can’t help themselves’. Medaid4kids supplies all eight state orphanages in Transdnestria with their basic hygiene needs, including toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, washing powder, soap etc. Each year over 2,500 children benefit from the generosity of the Irish people.
What a magnificent opening night it was for Riverdance in Dublin this evening!
Riverdance can only be described as a passionate and powerful explosion of creative expression that lifted our hearts and thoroughly entertained us!
And so all good things come to an end… The Shannon Company has finally drawn to a close as we wrapped up our last weekend of 22 weeks in the lovely city of Seattle, Washington.
The stiff limbs of the 50 runners who took to the streets of Dublin on Monday to run the Mini-Marathon should be returning to normal by now following their exertions to raise funds for Research Foundation’s Eithne Walls Fund. Everyone, whether they were walking or running had a great day!
