Riverdancers Honour the Memory of Dr Eithne Walls

In spite of the rainclouds that descended on them in 2010, June 6 will see another intrepid band of Riverdancers return to the streets of Dublin to run this year’s Flora Women’s Mini Marathon.
Once more they will be running to raise funds for the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital’s Research Foundation and to remember their friend and former dancing colleague Dr Eithne Walls.

Enormously Popular Riverdance Returns to The Teatro, Joannesburg in September

The enormous popularity and unprecedented response by the South African public to Riverdance led to a complete sell-out of the show’s season at the Teatro at Montecasino earlier this year. This exceptional demand for tickets resulted in South African promoters, BIG Concerts bringing the show back to the Teatro for a return season opening on Tuesday, 27 September 2011 for two weeks only, ending on Sunday, 9 October 2011.

Irish dancer Liam Ayres, now 26, was just 10 years old when he first saw Riverdance. His aunt, Christine Ayres, a professional dancer herself, brought over a video version and the whole family watched it in the living room. Ayres, who had been studying Irish dance since he was five, was enthralled.

‘Local boy’ dances Riverdance lead in Melbourne

” It’s a dream come true” for Liam Ayres as he finally performs with Riverdance in his home town of Melbourne. Liam originally from Box Hill Melbourne and now living in Hawthorn Melbourne will perform Riverdance lead during the show’s run at Regent Theatre, Melbourne from March 30 to April 10, 2011.
