Six cities and 1,538 miles in one week!

This week, we travelled to six cities and covered approximately 1538miles in two coaches; the ‘loud coach’ catering for people who may want to chat, watch DVDs etc and the ‘quiet coach’ for those who wish to remain silent for an entire journey.

Today, I am about to embark on another exciting tour with ‘Riverdance’. For the next five months, I will be travelling across USA & Canada, to over 80 destinations, performing to thousands of people every week and ultimately living my dream.

Farewell Éire – Hello U.S.A.

Well this week began with the old ritual of taking down of the suitcase from my attic and since Hawaii wasn’t all too long ago, my case happens to be cobweb-free. (Sigh of relief!)
So I started the packing process with searching for my dance shoes.

Dance Captain Meave Croke and Darren Maguire held an Irish step dance workshop with the children of the Ballet Hawaii dance group between shows during Riverdance’s recent tour in Honolulu.

And so all good things come to an end…the Shannon Company have successfully completed another six and a half week tour across the state of California and finishing up in the beautiful city of Honolulu on the island of O’ahu.

Press Calls in Hawaii

Principal Dancer Caterina Coyne had a very busy week in Honolulu with a host of press events scheduled. Riverdance North American press representative Merle Frimark was there to guide her through the busy week.

A feast of entertainment was had by all in the exclusive Pantages Theatre in Hollywood this past week. And it wasn’t just the people of LA but also the cast and crew of Riverdance who were entertained.
Basing ourselves at the comfortable, Hollywood Renaissance Hotel, we enjoyed an array of daytime and nightime entertainment.

A busy week in LA

Ten very important Irish dancers made their way to the dressing rooms tucked away in the heart of the studio and were soon greeted by the film crew to begin rehearsals and blocking on the set of ‘The Price is Right’. How important we felt when the host Drew Carey jumped up onstage to greet us.
