The Jameson Distillery Visitor Center in Dublin’s Smithfield recently marked its refurbishment and reopening on St Patrick’s Day with a marathon radio broadcast by international radio crews to all corners of the world.
TV Reporter Gayle Anderson of KTLA went to check out Riverdance rehearsals this week at the Pantages Theatre LA and got to see some feisty trade offs between Irish Dancers and American Tappers.
The Avoca troupe, led by Ryan McCaffrey and Joanne Doyle appeared on Vivement Dimanche Sunday 23rd October on France 2 with a repeat the following week.
On Thursday, October 20th, during their 2-week engagement in Toronto, principal dancers Padraic Moyles and Melissa Convery, along with fiddler Alexis MacIsaac, paid a visit to Gilda’s Club of Great Toronto.
There have been Riverdance couples, engagements and marriages over the 10 years of the show and even audience members have proposed to their loved ones in the aisle, however October 19th 2005 saw a new development in Riverdance romance.
This October Saturo Sakamoto, a well known musician from Sendai in Japan, visited Ireland to make a TV programme about Riverdance’s impending visit to Sendai.
The Boyne company male troupe, led by Padraic Moyles, recently performed Thunderstorm on Canada AM while the show was at the Canon Theatre in Toronto for a 2 week run.
Sunday 21 st August saw a truly extraordinary Riverdance show take place in a Community Centre in Dublin. Dreamt up by Riverdance drummer Ray Fean and spurred on by Senior Executive Producer Julian Erskine, Riverdance cast and crew and staff gave their free time to help the Ballyfermot Community Civic Centre celebrate its 4 th year.
