Exploring the Riverdance phenomenon: BBC Radio 2 Documentary

Radio 2’s Dance Season continues with Ryan Tubridy exploring the Riverdance phenomenon.
Contributors include composer Bill Whelan, producer Moya Doherty and some of the dancers and musicians who have been with the show from the beginning; and there are further archive contributions from Michael Flatley and Terry Wogan.

Children’s dance workshop

Dance Captain Meave Croke and Darren Maguire held an Irish step dance workshop with the children of the Ballet Hawaii dance group between shows during Riverdance’s recent tour in Honolulu.

Riverdance ends 2011 in Hawaii

And so all good things come to an end…the Shannon Company have successfully completed another six and a half week tour across the state of California and finishing up in the beautiful city of Honolulu on the island of O’ahu.

Principal Dancer Caterina Coyne had a very busy week in Honolulu with a host of press events scheduled. Riverdance North American press representative Merle Frimark was there to guide her through the busy week.

Saying goodbye in San Diego

Riverdance Producer Moya Doherty will be closing down the North American touring production by June 2012, which means when the show returns to San Diego this weekend, it really will be the last time you can see those quick tapping feet in town.
