This past Monday we had a long bus journey to Manchester, New Hampshire. We found ourselves in sunny, almost spring weather when we arrived, which made the drive well worth it for me! Everyone took the evening to relax and unwind and on Tuesday, we headed to the Verizon Arena for a one-night performance.
Our lighting electrician, Josh Moberly is from this part of New York, so his mother made us a huge assortment of delicious treats that were greeting us as we entered the theatre. There were so many, that they lasted through our run there and beyond!
Jason E Bernard asked his Father to bring him to see Riverdance when it first premiered at Radio City Music Hall in 1996. He saw the show and fell in love with it.
Monday we travelled from Frankfurt to Antwerp and when we arrived we were delighted to see that we finally had left the snow behind for good as there was torrential rain for the whole evening! We didn’t mind so much as we were fairly tired and just wanted to relax for the night as we know that we had a busy week ahead of us.
Welcome back to the Bann Company as we continue our trek around Asia with our two-week run at the Sejong Center in the heart of Seoul, Korea. Seoul is one of the largest cities in the World with over 10 million people….
On Monday morning we headed through the snow to Kansas City Airport to fly to Youngstown, Ohio. This former steel town close to Pittsburgh has been the source of many songs, including a dramatic and historical one by Bruce Springsteen……
Frankfurt was exciting. Mairead Masuda performed the Female Lead for the very first time.
Riverdance lead dancers, Joe and Maria judged an Irish dance competition where groups had choreographed pieces to different music. The winners had the honour of performing just before the start of Riverdance to a full house.
There was a lot going on this week. The hotel in Dresden was amazing. We were also pleasantly surprised with the city of Dresden – the shopping was very good and there was a variety of restaurants to choose from. We had another birthday to celebrate this week, Eamonn Galldubh (Musician).
