TV3’s Ireland AM went behind backstage during the Riverdance rehearsals at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin to catch up with Executive Producer Julian Erskine, Dance Director Niamh O’Connor, Lead Dancer Stephen Brennan and Wardrobe assistant Mary Sheehan.
After training on Saturday afternoon the entire Dublin GAA squad was surprised with a trip to Riverdance by mentor Bernard Dunne.
Lead dancer Padraic Moyles donned a Dublin jersey for the finale of the show.
Maria Buffini is currently dancing the lead in Riverdance at the Gaiety Theatre, but in a few short years will be diagnosing ailments
TV3’s Laura Woods learns the steps and joins 1692 other dancers in the Riverdance – The Gathering Longest Line World Record on the banks on the River Liffey on a sunny Sunday morning in July. Laura gets some tips from Jean Butler before she agrees to take part.
What a fantastic day on the banks of the River Liffey, 1,693 dancers from 44 countries taking part in the World Record breaking Longest Riverdance line ever.

On Saturday 20th July a very special open-air event will take place in Merrion Square, Dublin as part of Riverdance The Gathering.
Following 19 years of global touring Riverdance will be presented in its city of birth in a brand new format – Riverdance on Screen.
