Will I get notification that I have a place at the auditions?
Once you have submitted your application, you have a place at the in person auditions. We will email you with your allocated day and time slot.
Where will the auditions be held?

What dates are the auditions on?
Thursday, 15th February and Friday, 16th February.
Do I have to attend both days?
No, you will only be required to attend on one of the days above and you can choose which day and session you want to attend when you complete the application form.
How will the audition day work?
There will be 3 two hour auditions sessions each day. The first two sessions, depending on which one you select, (10am-12noon or 1pm -3pm) will be for you to audition and the final session will be for call backs which will be from 3pm -5pm.
How do I know if I got a call back?
At the end of each audition session we will announce the call backs. If you are called back it means we would like to see you again for the 3pm session. If you are not called back you are free to go.
When will I know the result of my audition?
We will send everyone’s audition result by email using the email address you put on your application.
Do I have to have attended the Riverdance Summer School in order to audition?
No, you not required to have attended the summer school in order to audition.
Do I need ID in order to audition?
We strongly encourage everyone to bring photo ID as proof of age.
What should I wear?
We recommend that you wear black but it’s not essential. Leggings, skirts, tights, pants, t-shirts, shorts and tops are all perfectly fine.
What will I be asked to dance?
Both boys and girls will be asked to dance up to 16 bars of light shoe dance (either slip jig or reel) , heavy shoe dance of choice (jig or hornpipe) and then we will teach you some choreography.
Do we bring our own music?
You can bring your own music if you wish but we will have a speaker, device and music so you don’t need to worry about that.
Do I have to know Riverdance steps?
You don’t have to know it but we will teach Riverdance Material.
Do I have to have my hair and make -up done in a particular way?
Hair and make-up is a personal decision and we don’t mind either way.
Do I have to have placed in the top 20 in world in order to audition?
NO you do not. We do recommend that you have qualified for the world championships but if you want to audition for Riverdance we will see you regardless of your competitive accomplishments.
How long will I be there?
We are allowing for 2 hours but we don’t see that all of you will be there for the full two hours. We will also do call backs and in the event that you get a call back, we will ask you to return for an additional audition from 3pm – 5pm.
What do I need to bring with me?
Your dance shoes and some water.
Do I have to be a world champion or place at the world championships?
NO you don’t but we do recommend that you are recalling or placing at your regional championships, that said, you are more than welcome to audition if you wish.
Do I have to have “show experience”?
No you don’t.
If I have auditioned before and received a result, can this audition change my previous result?
Yes it can.
