Exactly 25 years to the day since Riverdance first performed at the Point Theatre in 1995, experience the spectacular new 25th Anniversary production – back where it all began.
On the 9th February 1995, Riverdance the Show premiered at The Point Theatre Dublin. The 7 minute Eurovision interval act performance which had wowed TV audiences across the world had become a full length stage show and from there set out on a journey that would see it tour the globe and achieve worldwide acclaim.
On 9th February 2020, there will be a special gala evening performance, which will be filmed, back where it all began, at 3Arena Dublin. Tickets for this historic performance are now on sale
Riverdance – 25th Anniversary Show is a powerful and stirring reinvention of this beloved family favourite, celebrated the world over for its Grammy Award-winning music and the thrilling energy and passion of its Irish and international dance.
Now it is coming home to celebrate another milestone on that journey with five performances from 6-9 February at 3Arena Dublin including a special Gala show on 9th
Twenty-five years on, composer Bill Whelan has rerecorded his mesmerising soundtrack while producer Moya Doherty and director John McColgan have completely reimagined the ground-breaking show with innovative and spectacular lighting, projection and stage designs with new costume designs by Joan Bergin. The 25th Anniversary show catapults Riverdance into the 21st century and will completely immerse audiences in the extraordinary and elemental power of its music and dance.
The cast for this tour will feature, for the first time, many dancers and musicians who were not even born in the year that the show first opened; 1995 at the Point Theatre.
Twenty-five years on, both new and devoted fans of all ages will once again fall in love with the magic of Riverdance – the original, and still the best.
