Week 5 is complete and what a great week it was in Bristol. For many of the cast it was our first time to visit. When we arrived early Monday afternoon we were reunited with the members of the company that had been performing in Boston. For many of the cast, especially those who were jetlagged this was a day spent relaxing in our beautiful hotel.
This week we performed 8 shows in the Bristol Hippodrome, a fantastic venue with bags of character it reminded many of us of Riverdance’s summer home in the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin. All week we had packed audiences and rapturous applause this week Hodges brothers had the opportunity to perform in their home town for their friends and family.
On Wednesday night after the show there was a special event planned by our company managers. The company had hired out an old style bowling alley not far from the Hippodrome. We picked teams and went head to head on the lanes. There were a few lucky strikes and some people showed their hidden talent for bowling.
Not far from Bristol is the historical city of Bath. Some of the cast made the trip on the train to see Bath and all it had to offer. We visited the Ancient Roman Baths that are roughly 2000 years old and did a guided tour of the museum.
Bristol is also home to a famous graffiti artist who goes under the alias of ‘Banksy’ a few of us made it our mission to look around the city to see if we could find any of his work and luckily we did. The famous artist has created pieces in cities across the world and no one knows his true identity.
Next stop of the tour is Manchester and we have lots of things planned, the football fans can’t wait to get a tour of Old Trafford and the shopping fans can’t wait to go next door to the Trafford Centre. Check out our blog next week for a run-down of all the weeks events.
Until next time.
