US-based cultural programming network Kultur announced a broad licensing deal with the Dublin-based Tyrone Productions Ltd for three Riverdance titles – The Best of Riverdance, Riverdance Live from Beijing and Riverdance Documentary. Kultur will offer these programs to viewers of Kultur.com, its subscription-based SVOD (streaming video-on-demand) service for cultural content launched May 16, 2014.
CEO Thomas Buchar states, “Riverdance is undeniably brilliant – its popularity extends from Dublin to Chicago to Beijing. We are elated to have entered into our second decade in partnership with Tyrone Productions Ltd and to be part of Riverdance’s 20th Anniversary celebrations this year.”
Tyrone Productions MD Patricia Carroll states, “Over the past twenty years Riverdance has played 10,000 performances, been seen live by 25 million people in 465 venues worldwide, in 46 countries and 6 continents. Now through Kultur.com’s SVOD new service, audiences will be able to enjoy Riverdance in their own homes.”
Kultur’s latest mission is to give viewers an alternative to stale, mindless TV and online programming a place to go online to find the highest quality programming all in one place. For a monthly subscription fee they can watch the arts on an unlimited basis.
Adds, Buchar, “We are privileged that Riverdance is one of the premier franchises that we will be sharing with our SVOD subscribers. It is entertainment like this that is helping Kultur become the number one provider of cultural content on the Internet.”
