Dublin GAA squad took some tips from Riverdance

After training on Saturday afternoon the entire Dublin GAA squad was surprised with a trip to Riverdance by mentor Bernard Dunne.
Lead dancer Padraic Moyles donned a Dublin jersey for the finale of the show.
The majority of the boys in blue had never seen the iconic show.
Gaiety manager Alan McQuillan said the atmosphere in the theatre was the best he had ever experienced.
“There was great excitement in the theatre. There was a great buzz. There are so many young lads on the team who had never seen the show but heard all about it, and it was a great experience for them. They were saying the hairs stood up on the back of their neck watching the dancers.”

The surprise trip was intended to ease the pressure of intensive training the team has been under ahead of their clash against Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship quarter-finals in Croke Park on Saturday 3rd August at 7pm.
“It was great for them to get away from the training camp, because it can be very intense,” said Mr McQuillan. “It was a great break to take their minds off training and matches. And they loved it.”
This is the 10th year ‘Riverdance’ has been performed in the Gaiety Theatre and the two-hour dance show runs until the end of August.
