Emily Jade, a Montgomery County native, started Irish dancing for a small school in Gaithersburg, MD at the age of five. Emily holds fond memories of dancing across the DMV as a child, some of her favorite performances being the annual St. Patrick’s Parade of Washington, D.C. and dancing for military heroes at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center during St. Patrick’s season. During her competitive career, Emily Jade has earned a two-time regional championship title and rankings on a national and world level. Now 22 years of age, she is excited and humbled to have taken her passion to the professional level as a troupe dancer with the worldwide phenomenon, Riverdance. Emily Jade began her Riverdance career during her second year of nursing school, balancing rigorous academics with tour life. Some of her favorite destinations while dancing with the show include Dubai UAE, America’s Got Talent, and Europe. Outside of dance, Emily’s love for Irish culture continues as a former competitive Irish fiddler. She enjoyed sharing her love for Irish music with the Washington, D.C. Bog Band, and recalls memorable performances at the Irish Embassy in D.C. and weekly gigs at McGinty’s Public House in Silver Spring. Emily Jade is proud of her DMV roots, and eager to perform for a home crowd as Riverdance takes the stage in Washington, D.C.
