1996 – Riverdance’s US TV Network Debut

#FlashbackFriday. On 8th March 1996, Riverdance made its debut performance on US Network TV, appearing to rapturous audience on The Late Show with David Letterman. Featuring Riverdance leads Jean Butler and Colin Dunne, the talented cast of the Riverdance Irish Dance Troupe, Riverdance fiddler Eileen Ivers and the Riverdance musicians.

Following the TV appearance  Riverdance opened its first North American tour at Radio City Music Hall, New York in St. Patrick’s week with eight sell-out shows.  There followed a hugely successful tour and the start of 16 years of non-stop touring by Riverdance companies throughout North America. In 2015, after a 3 year break in touring, Riverdance, the 20th Anniversary production returned to North America. The 2017 North American tour is now on sale!
