TV3′s Laura Woods learns the steps and joins 1692 other dancers in the Riverdance – The Gathering Longest Line World Record on the banks on the River Liffey on a sunny Sunday morning in July. Laura gets some tips from Jean Butler before she agrees to take part.
What a fantastic day on the banks of the River Liffey, 1,693 dancers from 44 countries taking part in the World Record breaking Longest Riverdance line ever.
Congratulations to every one of the 1693 world record breakers who were on the quays of the River Liffey today. A great achievement. Thank you for all the effort, practice and enthusiasm that you put into today. Well done!
On Saturday 20th July a very special open-air event will take place in Merrion Square, Dublin as part of Riverdance The Gathering.
Following 19 years of global touring Riverdance will be presented in its city of birth in a brand new format – Riverdance on Screen.
Pop Up classes were held at the Gaiety Theatre Dublin and Opera Lane Cork for those taking part in the longest line world record attempt at Liffey Quays

First Lady Michelle Obama spoke to an excited audience of Irish school children at the Gaiety Theatre Dublin prior to a special performance of Riverdance produced in her honour.
