24 Hour Dancing People – The RiverRave

Riverdance-Danceathon-Blog-Summer-School

A Huge WELL DONE and of course, THANK YOU to all of you who took part in the Riverdance 24 – hour danceathon. It was for an extremely special cause – The Irish Hospice Foundation and it was a HUGE success. It was extremely hard work, and at times, extremely tiring, but it all paid off and in the end and this fantastic cause was greatly rewarded. Everybody at Riverdance are so proud at how smoothly it all ran and with that in mind, are already planning what we can do for another fundraiser. If you have any suggestions, please let us know your thoughts, although at the minute, top of the suggestion list is a 24 -hour sleepathon! Zzzzzzzzzzzzz…….

THANK YOUS
Where do we even start!!! A special thank you to all the dance schools from around the region, for their hard work, time, passion and preparation that went into each slot. A personal thank you to these dance schools, and dancers:

I would like to finish this blog off with an exact number count of the amount of coffees, energy drinks and Beroccas that were consumed by our team throughout the 24 hours, however, we lost count pretty quickly. The answer, however, is a lot! The team did an incredible job in staying awake and fighting through that delirious stage that comes with battling heavy eye lids. Right now, the total raised is currently €9,600 and you can still donate by clicking on HospiceFoundation.ie

To finish off, here’s a short poem I wrote which I feel captures the emotions of last Thursdays 24 – hour danceathon!
A 24 hour dance-athon.
A wide-eyed, no-sleep marathon.
It was for a good cause.
We deserved the applause.
When the clock hit 00:00:00
Till next time,
James and Darren
