2008 - Riverdance

Beijing and Xi’an before the 2008 Olympic Games

Opening night went very well. We sold out for the entire week in Beijing and there was great energy among the cast. In attendance to the show were the Irish Ambassador of China and the Irish Olympic Boxing team. They took time out from their vigorous schedules and were able to see the show and meet the cast afterwards.

Riverdance – Last stop Japan and a well deserved week off!

It was hard to believe that we reached our final city in Japan, but Osaka was a great place to end our run in this wonderful country. Osaka is often dubbed the second city of Japan and boasts of a population in its metropolitan area of 17.2 million people. Riverdance – The end of Tokyo, on to Nagoya

The last two weeks of our month long stay in Tokyo went very well. Even with our busy schedule of 8 shows per week, the cast was able to continue seeing the sites of Tokyo. The city is so vast, even 4 weeks is not enough time to see it all.

Welcome back to the Corrib, only this time we have left Europe and have headed over to the Far East. This is the first time I have traveled with the Corrib Company and things are well under way. Our first stop on this tour was to Sendai.

Corrib European Tour 2008

Company Manager Laurie Small on tour with Riverdance

The end of January saw us, back again in Germany, in Freiberg, one of the cities from my first tour and I remember the office well because I had a window with a stunning view of the mountains; this is a rarity. Normally the company office is a in a bunker somewhere in the depths of the venue…
